life happenings

I'm so amazed at how fast June has flown by & also slightly appalled that I haven't been updating more. Actually, that's kind of a lie - having a break for a bit (or pretty much since we moved here to Colorado, because lets face it, I've been sporadic about posting) has been good for me. Finding your footing in a new place is not the easiest, every time I thought I was there, I just wasn't. I adore/love/want to marry Colorado & this beautiful little city we live in, but it has taken me this long (about 6 months) to really feel like this is "my" town, if that makes any sense. I'm back though, I'm inspired, I feel like mine & Creed's life is finally on track & headed where it is meant to head. & hopefully this means I will be sharing more! I have a journal full of ideas & diy's & whatnots, so heres to a fantastic rest of the summer!!

The photos above are basically what I have been filling my days with: we ventured down to the nearest Ikea & crammed my sad little car as full as we could (we got a new bed & a new entertainment center), these new pieces lead to the desire to re-vamp/add to our existing decor (new duvet, etc.). Adding some new things here & there always makes everything feel fresh & fun! I have also been working my buns off on bootie orders, as well as some new designs for Pleasantly Plump, I'm planning to add them to the shop soon! Can't wait!! I also started a little knitting group that meets once a month with some awesome ladies I have met - more on this later!!

We are driving down to Denver tonight, my dad is in town, so we are going to grab a bit to eat with him! I'm excited, it's been months since I've seen him!! Happy Thursday, all!

p.s. this makes two posts in one day....insane, right?!

5 questions

I was tagged awhile ago (& by awhile, I mean back in April, yikes!) by Kym from The Adventures of Kym & Dustin to answer some fun questions. Before I answer her questions though, I just have to say that I love Kym's blog & find her & her husband's adventurous spirits so inspiring - they live/work on a glacier in Alaska during the summers - how cool is that?!? I keep trying to convince her to come visit Boulder, I would love to have tea/coffee with her & hear all about their adventures!

Okay so on to the questions!

1. 5 places you need to visit: Hawaii, France, Ireland, Alaska & Italy (again, because once isn't enough)

2.  5 places you would love to call home: Washington, Hawaii, San Francisco, Oregon & I'm drawing a blank on the last one...I'm pretty much open to anything though.

3.  Top 5 favorite things in your life: Pugs, knitting, getting to work from home with a "dream" job, photography/cameras & my husband :)

4. 5 things you want to cross off your bucket list or goal list this year: I want to travel around to all the fun, old miner mountain towns here in CO, plan a road trip down to Sante Fe, start on a quilt, sew a piece of clothing for myself & finally follow through with plans on branching out & growing Pleasantly Plump [Knits.]

5. 5 Random facts about yourself: 1. I was born in Miami, FL & have lived in 5 different states so far (Florida, Virginia, New Mexico, Georgia & Colorado) 2. I love working out & have worked on & off as a personal trainer since I was 21 3. I've driven the same car since I was 15, I can't stand the thought of selling her at this point, no matter how ugly & beat up she is 4. I would rather receive balloons over flowers any day (they just seem so much more fun) & 5. I've always been told I'm overly sensitive, I cry easily, like at sappy movies or commercials even, or because I am just soooo happy or if I see someone else crying...even if they are strangers. I've learned to embrace this, instead of hide it & I think people that don't feel that much emotion are missing out. (life is beautiful.)

Well that was fun, even if it did take me a few months to finally answer (sorry, Kym). If you want to participate, feel free to post on your blog & send me the link or post your answers in the comment section below!

p.s. the photo above is from a lake that is only about a mile from our house, we take bike rides there & it kinda just takes my breath away....I love Colorado.

life lately...

according to my iphone.

I thought I would pop in & give a little re-cap of our lives lately since I have been MIA...We have been throughly enjoying the weather here in Colorado & taking advantage of any time we can spend outside - lots of afternoon bike rides, food truck parties in the park & of course puggie snuggling.

I seriously can't believe that today is June 1st, April & May have just whirled by! I love June for a lot of reasons, it's signifies the real start of Summer & I just have so many fond memories of summertime in June. Probably the most important being that my sweet Creed & I went on our very first date on June 1st, TEN YEARS AGO today. I can hardly believe that it's been a decade & the best decade of my life, so far!!! (I love you, creedperryhusbandextraordinaire, happy 10 years together & many many more to come!)

I'm predicting lots of fun memories to be added this summer because today also marks the beginning of some new changes in my "work" life as well. Today I started back working primarily on my little shop, Pleasantly Plump [Knits.] & I'll also be working a few days here & there at our apartment complex office. A combination I am very pleased with because at the end of the day, I have to be true to myself & I have found that I am really happiest while creating. So back to it I go...I am really so excited & incredibly grateful to have such a supportive husband that makes it possible! In honor of opening the shop back up, I am extending a little discount to my blog readers - enter POCKETFULOFPRETTY upon checkout to get free shipping on your domestic orders!

Happy Friday!!!! hugs & cheek pecks, Meghan
