I thought I would write a little update with how things are going for us out here in Boulder. While I haven't experienced any major bouts of homesickness, I have gone through minor stages of missing my friends/family & feeling slightly out of my comfort zone. (I guess that's really what homesickness is?!?) but anywho...these feelings never last long because the pros of being here far outweigh any of the cons I have felt.
& just this past week, I feel like a light bulb has been turned on, things are starting to fall into place & I am starting to really fall in love with Colorado. I feel like I have my footing back, my voice & I feel like this is becoming "home" more & more everyday. So here is a little list of what we have been up to & what we fill our days with...
+ I recently was offered & accepted a job at a locally owned & operated shop on Pearl Street. Pearl Street is the historic downtown pedestrian mall here in Boulder, it's always lively & busy & fun, filled with street performers & some amazing little shops! I'm excited I'll be working where all the action is! & for the time being I think my schedule will allow me to continue to run Pleasantly Plump Knits as well!
+ I've mentioned this before, but we have the most perfect little park right outside our front door & now that the weather has been warming up, (60's forecasted all week!!!) we frequent it nightly. Everyone brings their dogs out in the middle & they all run freely & leash-less. I was worried my pugs wouldn't know what to do with this new leash-less found freedom but they stay close & soak up all the attention from the other dog owners & dogs. This is probably one of the highlights of my days, I'm already in love with this little park & can only see that love growing when spring officially arrives & everything turns green. I foresee many picnics & family outings here...I can't stop smiling just thinking about it.
+ I've branched out of my comfort zone & met up with a few people here with similar interests - it's amazing how instagram, twitter & the blogging community can open up a world of possible new friendships that otherwise may not have happened. I had the pleasure of meeting Kim, from Oh Sweet Joy! & was thrilled to be included in her recent photo shoot for her newest product, you can check out the photos here. It was such a fun day!
I guess that sums up our life lately. We haven't really had the chance to explore up in the mountains yet, but that is next on the to-do list. The photo above was from Boulder Canyon, we just drove up there real quick one day, it was super chilly, so I'm looking forward to exploring more in the coming warmer months.
I hope everyone has a great weekend! Happy Friday! hugs & cheek pecks, Meghan
