I cleaned out my purse today (threw away old receipts & what nots). Here is a peek at what's in my nice clean bag...sketchbook/journal, my all time favorite writing utensil - Sharpie Pens (I don't go anywhere without at least two), Instax camera with film refills, business card holder, wallet, nail polish (always), mini Diana camera, 35mm slide film (to cross process) & film that needs to be dropped off to get developed, Burts Bees lip glosses, sunglasses, keys & my trusty Iphone!  Happy thursday-almost-friday! ♥

slightly obsessed...

I recently noticed that all my favorite t shirts, you know the ones that have been worn so many times they have holes in them, are all heather grey.  It's such a sub-consciously comforting color for me, I tend to be drawn to it while shopping & end up coming home with so much grey without realizing. I can't help it, I'm obsessed. I do try to always offset the blah-ness with other colorful pieces or accessories to make it fun. Here are some basic heather grey loves that I wouldn't mind adding to my ever growing collection...enjoy!

weekend scenes

our weekend - we had to drop off our littlest bit, razzy star, at the vets on friday morning to get spayed. sadness. I hated leaving her, worst feeling ever.  - I am convinced that our Olive missed her puggy friend something awful, she had that worried look on her face until we brought little R home. - Creed took me to the movies to take my mind off things, we saw SuckerPunch, his choice but totally worth seeing. I really enjoyed it, the graphics are amazing! - & that's pretty much it, we spent the rest of the weekend playing nurse to the littlest pug that could (so glad she is home & energetic enough that its been tough to keep her from running & jumping). ♥

lovely weekend

We had a very low key relaxing weekend, the weather was amazing.  I wore a tank top out in the wide world with no sweater for the first time this year, maybe it's just me but I always feel a little nakey the first time I don a tank top or shorts or a dress with no leggings every year when the weather warms up.

We grabbed a bite of my newest food obsession on Friday - Jimmy Johns or as I like to call it Jimmy Jack Johns (they have an amazing vegetarian sammy).  We then had to stop for some froyo because it happens to be conveniently right across the street from JJ's.

On Saturday I got my bangs trimmed, cleaned the house a bit & watched Creed do some yard work because I'm supportive like that. :)

I love the process of having bangs...I don't mind them when they get long & love the side swept look but also get just as excited about having my bangs back when I get them trimmed.

I finished up the weekend lounging & playing with my little ladies, miss Razzy Star & sweet Olive Jane...there's no doubt they are the best cuddlers.  

I woke up on this beautiful Monday morning feeling very refreshed & excited about starting over & getting tons of stuff done! This is my motto for the week-

"the day you decide to do it is your lucky day"

simple pleasures

I have been a working hard this week & spending most of my time in the studio.  

But I have made sure to enjoy some of my simple pleasures as well, because after all I work for myself & make the rules!  Here are some of the little things that make me smile...

1. Puggy walks!! Without these I don't think I could get much work done, these little ladies have tons of energy!  The littlest one is getting so big.

2. Reading! I am *in love* with my kindle & use it everyday while I knit up orders. I just finished Extremely Loud & Incredibly Close by Foer (so so good) & decided this week to settle on a light young adult read - The Hunger Games trilogy. Oh my goodness, it's such a fun interesting read, I have LOVED it so far & recommend it.  I am on book two already, Catching Fire.  (I also just started a Good Reads page, add me if you'd like - my username is: mmperry)

3. Family time & thrifting!  I was oh so lucky to get a visit from my parents this past weekend (I miss them already)!  My mom is the thrifting queen & we spent the whole visit tearing up all my fav local thrift stores, we came away with so many goodies. 

I found my all time favorite John Denver record for a whopping $.70! Annie's song - sigh...

4. Can I add my Iphone as a simple pleasure?! haha. I sadly don't know where I would be without it. My new favorite game is Tiny Wings.  & I have gotten slightly attached to Instagram.  I am such a visual person that I almost prefer it to Twitter, I enjoy getting to share & see snippets of peoples lives through the instagram feed - my username is meghanp if you have an account!

beside myself happy

Yesterday was a big day for me, like jump up & down excitement big!  A pair of my Pleasantly Plump booties made the pages of the March issue of Pregnancy & Newborn magazine!!  It is a national magazine & one of the biggest compliments I have ever received!  I feel extremely grateful & will probably celebrate the rest of the week! I can't think of a better way to start out March...I am just beside myself with happiness.  [click on images to enlarge]
