in the nick of time

Creed received his "Christmas in August" present this morning & boy was I cutting it close...on the last day of August.  Whew!! Just in time.

What was it, you might be asking?!?! Well I've heard that the way to some men's hearts is through their stomach...my Creed is different, I am fairly certain that the way to his heart is through his xbox. (ha!)  So I got him the pre-order to this new fancy schmancy game that is coming out in a week or so (I printed out the cover of the game, hence the little envelope).

He was so thrilled he drew "how happy" he was in the little envelope frame (pretty sure I won't be erasing this for awhile)...

Happy Tuesday!! I'm still in disbelief that tomorrow is September 1st but I am so excited to see what fun things this Autumn brings!!! hugs & cheek pecks!

Pretty sure I am in love with this tiny tiny mini camera.  Okay so it may not work...but it does have detachable lenses & its beyond adorable.

Found here at Photojojo.  I am wondering how I didn't know about this website before...HELLO a fisheye or macro lens for my iphone?!?! I am willing to pay $20 to try that & wear it on a sweet little necklace.  I have died & gone to photo novelty heaven.   

A Fuji Wide Format instant camera!!!!!! SWOOON! This is REAL & I am in love!  (*serious wink wink to anyone who wants to know what to get me for Christmas)

Just another manic monday

I spent most of my weekend at an outdoor festival supporting the amazing art gallery/boutique that I work for!  It was rather warm but fun nonetheless...

So today I am playing a bit of catch up but got majorly sidetracked with a slight obsession of mine.... typography!!!  I'm not going to lie, I hoard fonts like there is no tomorrow...good thing they don't take up too much space or you might see me on the next episode of TLC's Hoarding: Buried Alive.  I also have a slight obsession with people's handwriting...

I celebrated today being slightly cooler than most (86° instead of 100°) by wearing a scarf.  Is it Fall yet?!

Friday Fun Finds

Pug (& knitting) inspired of course...

If only  I could knit while I slept, I would knit up a few of these cuddly puggys for myself.  I ♥ them!  The pattern can be purchased from this amazing shop, Danger Crafts!

Maybe your pug needs a hat (how cute is that mush face)?!?!? I'm pretty sure Olive will be asking for one for winter this year. You can find them at Jessica Lynne Art's sweet shop!  She makes all colors (& donates some of her proceeds to a Pug Rescue!!!!) 

 

 & although these aren't knitted they look just as snuggly...so sweet. I'd love a whole chair full!  Found in Plain Jane Textile's shop!

I just realized that yesterday's post was my 50th.  May not seem like a lot but I think even small milestones are a cause for celebration!! & I also think it means I might be here to stay...so much so that I felt like giving my little blog a more permanent home of it's own!  Pocketful of Pretty now has it's own domain!

particularly pleasant

Here are a few things that made my heart skip a little beat today & made my Wednesday particularly pleasant...

1. Hello inspiration!!!!! These photos of Allister Ann's new home are simply breathtaking...makes me all the more motivated to really make my home my own.  I am a new follower to her blog...such an inspiration!!! Check out the rest of her gorgeous home photos here!

2.  Creed & I went on a walk after work with little Olive.  We talked about small things & big things...like plans on how we can conquer the world (well "our" world anyway...) It's amazing how a 30 minute walk can comfort your soul.  

3.  These photos by Andrea of Hula Seventy made me stop in my tracks, they hold something magic indeed!  Her work is always so beautiful & I'm pretty sure these are Polaroids (even more in love). Check out the rest here.

peas in a pod

The Ray/David concert was pretty amazing.  The venue was outdoors & it provided the backdrop for a perfect, romantic closing to the summer.

I love being in a crowd of strangers with my Creed.  It makes me realize how right we are for each other & how excited I am about growing old together & the life we are building!

We had a great little mini stay-cation, it was much needed & so enjoyable. I spent most of today in my studio, I restocked all my yarn (have I mentioned how much I love yarn)!  I've been feeling so motivated & creative in my "space."  I've received tons of requests for hats/beanies...so my brain has been on overdrive with ideas - now it's time to execute them!!  Happy mid-week!! hugs & cheek pecks.

Monday Monday

I am so in love love with bows at the moment!  I'm seeing them everywhere & will definitely be adding them in my fall wardrobe as often as possible.  Here are some must-haves!

I already own a handful of Lou & Lee's headbands (LOVE them) & I give them as gifts to my nieces every year. I'm pretty sure I will have to add this big bow to my collection.  

Also some of these bitsy bows (for my big girl hair) 

& this bow belt is too precious!  Made by the lovely shop Darlingtonia.

I am enjoying another day off, getting lots of work done!  We have a little fun break planned for tonight!!  My mr. must have found my offer of slow dancing to Ray Lamontagne's voice too good to pass up, he scored us two last minute tickets to the Ray Lamontagne/David Gray concert tonight (on the cheap)!!!! Sweet husband never ceases to amaze!! Can't wait to be serenaded!  ♥

Pug Lovin'

Here's a little something you might not know about my little Olive...she has a sister & her name is Petunia.  They were the only two that survived their litter. Creed & I knew we couldn't split them up but we also knew that we couldn't have two at that time...so sweet Petunia is lucky enough to live with my parents. 

Here they are as wee babes. (Olive in green, Petunia in pink) Could you have walked away with just one?!?! I think not...

Petunia lives with a pug friend, Chloe, who also happens to be the pug that started my slight obsession with the breed.  She's a beautiful 10 year old lady with lots of sass.  

I'm pretty sure Olive's favorite thing to do is visit with her pug family. 

I am also pretty sure it might be time to get her a little pug friend of her own...don't cha think?!?!?!  Olive & I are enjoying a leisurely Saturday together, I couldn't help but think about how nice it would be to add another little snorter to the mix. Olive sends her pug kisses!

Looong weekend

I have the pleasure to enjoy a few extra days off this weekend!  Today was my Friday!  YAY!

A long weekend will give me time to start on my 4 simple goals.  I've been taking lots of photos with my Mini Dee.  I hope to get some developed this weekend, I'll share of course!
I would love to make some patches for my knitted quilt.  Here are some inspirational, yummy, quilt-y photos to get me motivated!!

Crushin'

Is it possible to have a crush on someones voice...because I go a little weak in the knees every time I hear Mr. Ray Lamontagne's voice.  We (his voice & I) shared a little moment today on my lunch break when Pandora played me this song.  Pretty sure it made me blush & daydream about slow dancing under the stars with my sweet husband...*sigh*  Word on the street is his new album was released yesterday.  magic. 

& in other news...a pair of my boots made an appearance in my outfit today.  I'm taking a proactive roll in this whole season changing situation.  That's right Fall, I'm coming for you, let's get this show on the road!
